Haerim Shin
I was born and grew up in Seoul, and earned a B.A. degree in English Literature at Ewha Woman's University. After graduating, I got into the National Folk Museum of Korea as a curatorial assistant in the International Communication & Education Department, where I could be exposed to the variety of high-quality contents related to people and the culture throughout the country as well as worldwide museums.
The first professional opportunity I got as an illustrator was through the Bible Correspondence Center located in Seoul. I had the opportunity to create the book cover illustration and educational illustrations for the Christian Bible learners. From that time on I've been working on my own passion projects, and this year I will graduate from the illustration master course at LABASAD.
My works deliver a painterly aesthetic with literary narrative. Fresh and whimsy but with warmth, they seek to tell about humor and original questions that humans face.
